ABOUT

PELİN DERVİŞ

Architect, editor and researcher working across architecture, design and publication. Her work focuses on structuring knowledge and supporting the development of research-based outputs such as books, exhibitions, archives and long-term documentation projects.

Trained as an architect at Istanbul Technical University, she initially practiced architecture before focusing on the cultural production of architecture and design. Over the past two decades, she has collaborated with architects, designers, researchers and institutions to develop publications, coordinate exhibitions, and organise complex material related to architectural practice and history.

Her work often involves bringing together dispersed sources—drawings, texts, photographs, models and interviews—and transforming them into coherent formats accessible to wider audiences. Through editorial coordination, research development and archive structuring, she supports practices in reflecting on their work and communicating it clearly.

She has worked with institutions including Salt, Istanbul Modern, Studio-X Istanbul, the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, VitrA, and Superpool, contributing to exhibitions, research initiatives and publications. In 2014 she founded Müşterek Yapım, a platform for research and production focusing on architecture and design. In 2020 she initiated the Pelin Derviş Publication Project, through which she develops book projects exploring architectural culture, production processes and professional networks.

Her work engages with the relationship between design practice, research and cultural memory, with particular attention to how architectural knowledge is recorded, shared and reinterpreted over time.

She currently lives and works in Dublin.
